And coming in today from the Irony Department: The IRS Commissioner doesn't file his own taxes...why? because he thinks he tax code is too complex.

"IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman does not file his own taxes in part because he believes the tax code is complex."

Jimmy Kimmel Defends Himself against Leno

A few weeks ago I posted this video of Jimmy Kimmel just slaughtering Jay Leno on Jay's show. Well, I guess a few days ago Oprah interviewed Jay about everything and he said of the Kimmel incident, "I felt like I got sucker punched."

Here is Jimmy Kimmel's reply to that:
p.s. after all this blows over, late night will be so boring...

Bobby Bottleservice Audition Tape

More Bobby Bottleservice, this time he has an audition tape for the Jersey Shore. My favorite is "The jersey Shore is an abominable-snowman-ation of what is right and wrong."

John Wall

A great mixtape of John Wall most likely the 2010 NBA Draft #1 selection:

The Harder I Work, The Luckier I Get

"The future doesn't just happen-its shaped by decisions."

- Paul Tagliabue, former NFL commissioner

Mrs. Awesome put this on her Twitter the other day, and I thought it was...awesome. It's so true, I get sick of people thinking that everything is some stroke of great luck. I work hard for what I get, and it annoys me when others say I'm so lucky.

Am I fortunate? Yes.

Lucky? No, I work hard.

Contrary to popular belief, it isn't very often that people will hand things to you out of pity, you actually have to work hard to achieve the things you want out of life.

Make Yer Facebook speak Pirate!!

So This thing showed up on the top of my facebook that said I could change the language...I scrolled down and there is a English (Pirate) language. One of the best decisions I ever made...I'm one step closer to becoming an actual pirate. Check out what the home page looks like now:

Hope to Nope

This is true no matter your political party affiliation, and of course each side blames it on the other. Unfortunately, the US Government is broken, and has been for a long time.

Conan is Back at NBC??

According to this article, NBC is airing a pilot episode of a show by Conan's production company Conaco.

Apparently the dispute wasn't personal, as Conan decided he would still do business NBC after getting screwed.

Days after the network severed ties with O'Brien as host of "The Tonight Show," it picked up an hourlong pilot from O'Brien's production company, Conaco.

The untitled O'Brien project, known as "Justice," was written by John Eisendrath. Described as a new take on a law show with a larger-than-life character at the center, it follows an ex-Supreme Court justice who quits the Court to start his own legal practice.

Redzone to Cellphones?

This might be the best news of the day (it's 11:30 at night...so it's a safe assumption). NFL Network is in talks to create a mobile version of NFL RedZone. For those that don't know NFL RedZone, it is the best sports program ever, no commercials, shows every touchdown from every game. It's great!!

Sweet Pass

Deron Williams with a sweet pass...of course it's against the Nets and they are up by 30.

Views on Why We Shouldn't Feel Required to Continue Helping Haiti

I try to avoid too many controversial issues on here, but I thought this was a good read (agree or not).

This is a hot button issue obviously, but I stumbled across this article by Paul Shirley about Haiti and why we shouldn't feel required to donate toward Haiti relief efforts. Although I do feel some of this is a little extreme, I think the entire argument is interesting and thought provoking. Especially at a time when our own country is in a downward spiral, we continue to feel like we must help (insert country here), after already send billions in aid to their corrupt government, yet we ourselves don't have the means.

This line really got me:
A Haitian woman, days after the earthquake:
“We need so much. Food, clothes, we need everything. I don’t know whose responsibility it is, but they need to give us something soon,” said Sophia Eltime, a mother of two who has been living under a bed sheet with seven members of her extended family.

Keep Your Valuables Safe When Checking Baggage

This guy puts a starter pistol in his valuable luggage and he must declare it when checking in. They give him a card to sign and the TSA rep looks through his bag with him there, locks it, and gives him his key. In this case he uses this method for photography equipment, and it totally makes sense.

NFL Football games only have 11 minutes of actual action?

So there was a study in the Wall Street Journal, that breaks down the average football game. Of the typical game, which lasts about 2 hours and 54 minutes, there are only 11 minutes of actual football. And I always thought baseball was boring.

"So what do the networks do with the other 174 minutes in a typical broadcast? Not surprisingly, commercials take up about an hour. As many as 75 minutes, or about 60% of the total air time, excluding commercials, is spent on shots of players huddling, standing at the line of scrimmage or just generally milling about between snaps. In the four broadcasts The Journal studied, injured players got six more seconds of camera time than celebrating players. While the network announcers showed up on screen for just 30 seconds, shots of the head coaches and referees took up about 7% of the average show." -WSJ

The Late Night Battle: Jay V. Jimmy

With all the late battles going on I thought this was great, I can't believe they actually had Jimmy Kimmel on the segment. I do think that he is a better comedian than both of them. Jay's jokes are getting old and Conan is just wacky funny. Jimmy Kimmel is actually sharp and witty, and I think his interviews are always better for that reason.

Check out this video of Kimmel on the "10 @ 10" segment of the Leno show...he definitely takes some shots.

Calling All Crazy Pet Lovers

At the risk of Mrs. Awesome actually wanting to put Toby in this thing I will post it anyway. Supposedly this Oxygen chamber slows down the aging process of your dog. It is the world's first canine oxygen cell that is supposed to help dogs relax and slow down their aging (yeah they look really relaxed). It is in Japan, so you'd have to fly out there with your pooch, putting the dog on the plane for hours will make it lose 5 years, then put it in the oxygen chamber to gain 1 year. This is complete insanity!

30 minutes in this bad boy costs 2000 yen, or about $17.

Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Happiness

Sweet Child o' Mine!!

So I stole this from Mrs. Awesome, because it is too funny, and everyone needs to watch it!! Classic...

Tyreke Evans - Rookie of the Year...

Tyreke Evans so far this season should be the undisputed Rookie of the Year...he's been incredible all season. Brandon Jennings was great early on, but has started to fade away (much like his new Fresh Prince 'do) as the season progresses. So while Brandon Jennings is changing his hair from
