Ron Ron Loves In-N-Out

Clearly Ron Artest and I live in California for the same reason.

“I could’ve bought 10,000 In-N-Out Burgers,” he said. “I rather would’ve done that than give it away. I’m going to get 10 burgers [after Monday's game]. I love In-N-Out. It’s addicting. It’s the only reason I’m here in L.A. If it wasn’t for In-N-Out Burger, I probably would’ve gone to Memphis or something.”– Ron Artest, who is very thankful that his recent technical foul, ejection and — most importantly — associated fines totaling $4,000 have been rescinded

Twitter...The Future of Penny Stock Pump & Dumps?

It started with mail, then email, now is it Twitter? A long time scheme in the penny stock world is to pump up the stock get millions of dollars committed from suckers, then dump the stock and leave those new buyers holding the bag.

Not that 50 Cent did this, but this may become a new technique. Using Twitter, 50 Cent (yeah the rapper) tweeted this company HNHI -- a distributor of headphones, the stock gained 240%, which added $50MM in Market Cap.

Could this be the new wave of the future? Using Twitter for penny stock 'Pump & Dump' scams?

Say Uncle, Lebron a TD Run

So in a game most thought the Saints would win going away (10 point favorites), the Seahawks took it to them. This was the cherry on top. This run by Marshawn Lynch was one of the best NFL runs I've ever seen.

U.S. Almost Completely Out of Money - Weren't We Already?

Timothy Geithner, Secretary of Treasury, wants the public (and Senator Reid) to know that the U.S. is essentially out of money and needs a debt limit increase.

This is essentially the equivalent of you asking your credit card company for a credit limit increase. Without it (as the letter points out), we increase our risk of default on debt, thus lowering our country's debt rating, leading to a multitude of additional problems.

Geithner's Letter to Harry Reid

Time for my take: spending with reckless abandon and increasing unemployment benefits and other social programs hasn't helped prevent our country from hitting our debt cap? hmmm....who would have ever guessed it?

I'm sure after a letter like this we will probably just vote to cut some spending right? No? We are actually just asking for permission to spend more money (that we don't have). I wonder what taught Americans that credit card debt isn't such a bad thing? It's ok I'm sure we'll just dip into Social Security, it seems to always be the answer.

Maybe we would be a little further from the debt limit if everyone (including Geithner) paid their share of taxes??

Shaq's Reaction

Shaq was critical of officials after their loss to the Magic on Christmas day by saying:
"I guess they (fans) come out to see No. 26 play. He was a great player out there today. They paid all that money to see No. 26 come play. My thing is, if you're going to call it, call it the same way every time. Don't pick and choose who you are going to call it against." (number 26 is the official's number)

The NBA fined him 35k. Here is his Nancy Kerrigan-esque reaction:
