The Kings said good riddance to a terrible 2010 (except for Tyreke winning Rookie of the Year), with this great buzzer beater. In the words of Shaquille O'neal: "One lucky shot, deserves another." Maybe it will be the start to a better 2011.
This was pretty awesome...last nights game the Packers tried a squib kick to end the half and 313 Pound O-Lineman Dan Connolly returns it to the 4 yard line. This actually ended up being the difference in the game.
Oregon has always been my favorite college football team and their helmets last week were out of control. The best helmets I have ever seen. I hope they wear these ones when they beat the Auburn Cheaters Tigers for the National Championship in Glendale, AZ in a few weeks. GO DUCKS!!
Even though this season of SNL has sucked so far, there is one new member of the cast that stands out. Jay Pharoah. His impressions are hilarious. Here he is on Letterman. He's pretty funny, and the impressions are spot on:
This is pretty cool, it's a word cloud of the Sacramento Kings, based on minutes played. The bigger the name, the more minutes they played, check it out:
HE'S BAAACK....Cavs fans have had this matchup circled and highlighted with big arrows poiting to it, ever since he made a public spectacle out of taking his talents to South Beach.
Time to rock n' roll , I'm excited to see the fans reactions, and whether LeBron will be able to rise above it. Something inside of me wants to see this arrogant A-hole have a terrible game. BUT if he went off for 50, 15, and 15 that would be telling as well.
Is there any problem with this? Making people work for their unemployment, instead of being able to sit at home and collect? Novel concept. (it shouldn't be)
Huckabee, who served for 10 1/2 years as Arkansas' governor, suggested that if Congress passes unemployment extensions this week the rules should include measures similar to what is occurring in the United Kingdom under its coalition government. "You show up every Monday morning at 8 o'clock," he said. "You will either pick up trash or you will tutor in a school ... you will do something from 8 in the morning until four or five that afternoon like everyone else who is getting a check."
Derek Anderson and the Cardinals got thrashed on Monday Night Football last night. In the 4th quarter they showed DA laughing it up with his offensive lineman. This is a great post game reaction:
Russell Westbrook is one of the young stars of the NBA...He doesn't get much love in OKC, but 2 nights in a row, he's decided to dunk on great defenders - That should get you some love. 1st Shane Battier then the next night Emeka Okafor. Well done Westbrook.
I guess this happened a couple of weeks ago, but it doesn't make it any less funny. Joel McHale rips Hoda and Kathie Lee. He even brings his own bottle of scotch to share:
I know he will get Mrs. Awesome's vote. Why? Because he teaches them how to Dougie. This was John Wall's first home introduction of his career and people won't forget it. (at least until the one hit wonder song is forgotten).
Not only did he dance, but he tore up the court too. we went for 29 points/ 14 assists/ and 9 steals!!
In case you missed the Kings game last night (which I recorded) because the Giants were to busy winning the World Series. Here is a quick recap from Garbage Time All Stars.
“Public business, my son, must always be done by somebody. It will be done by somebody or another. If wise men decline it, others will not; if honest men refuse it, others will not.” - John Adams
These people all answer the questions right...if the question was "Is Obama Kenyan"
However, the question is, "Is Obama Keynesian" (As in the Macroeconomic theory that believes active monetary policy response in necessary to stabilize a business cycle).
Must watch whether you lean right or left...it's a testament to our direction of our society.
This clip of the Jon Stewart/ Stephen Colbert Rally is very interesting. Most really don't understand why they are there, and what they are supporting...it's just classic. The point is to mock the bi-partisanship of government, but yet the polarity is extraordinary. It's a sad testament to people in their 20's...I'm mean they admit they get their news from Jon Stewart...they are freaking comedians people!!
This is great article about SF and the Giants. "You know what? To all the people who hate “bandwagon” fans? Let it go. Who cares. You know who you are? You’re the guy who liked the Kings of Leon and then got mad when everyone else did. You’re the guy who said “this band is SO good”, and then when someone said, “hey I agree” you said NO YOU DON’T ONLY I CAN LIKE THEM. That’s silly. Knock it off. Let them in. Buy them a beer, or a kombucha. Whatever it is. I don’t care. Just let this happen and stop Eeyoring the crap out of our unlimited happiness we’re on the brink of." A Love Letter to the San Francisco Giants (Via Rocket Shoes)
In every appearance his approach was the same: focused rage, directed at the guy in the batter’s box. “I don’t have time to be angry away from the field,” he said. “So I brush it off, bottle it up, and drink a tall glass of it before taking the mound.”
“I’d like to be a crossword clue one day,” he said. “I want to be in The New York Times’s Sunday edition. Right now, the clue ‘Giants great’ is always Mel Ott. I want my clue to be down, not across. The down ones are usually harder. And when I’m the clue, I’ll fill it in — just that one — and frame it.
This is how a political ad should be. It should be a look into their life, their thoughts and their background, and most of all inspiring.
It should not be this mud slinging against each other, or a play on people's fears and emotions. No more of the "Meg Whitman sat on Goldman Sachs board, was CEO of Ebay, etc, etc." (To which I say, good, she had real jobs...she's not a career politician).
It's nice to see a real campaign ad. I might just write him in for my senator, even though he's running in Florida, and I'm in California.
The book by Jay Z "Decoded" comes out November 16th.
It doesn't sound like an autobiography, but more of a compilation of inspirations, stories, etc. Here's what he says about the book:
"When you're famous and say you're writing a book, people assume that it's an autobiography--I was born here, raised there, suffered this, loved that, lost it all, got it back, the end. But that's not what this is. I've never been a linear thinker, which is something you can see in my rhymes. They follow the jumpy logic of poetry and emotion, not the straight line of careful prose. My book is like that, too."
This a guy from the 101st Airborne parachuting into Michigan's Big House, the stadium is the largest in the country holding upwards of 110,000...pretty awesome video. It gets really cool around the 2:30 mark.
I tried to explain this to Mrs. Awesome last night, but words could not do it justice, so I told her to check my blog...kidding. But since I found it, now she can watch it, and so can everyone else that hasn't seen it...Oh, and if it helps ladies, Justin Timberlake is in it.
I'm a simple dude, living my simple life. Happily married to my perfect wife, with a fur child named Toby. I am living the dream. I work in Finance as a portfolio manager and even in the rough markets, am loving it.
